What to do in Madrid in August!
Temperatures in August are nice. It's hot, yes, but not sweltering. You can see current and future temperature in this table:
You see, heat is not excessive. Just take care not to be out at peak times, when the temperature is higher. In other European cities, perhaps you can not afford take a nap when you're on vacation, but not in Madrid. In Madrid the days are long ... and the nights even more. So you can rest a while in your apartment during those hours and get the strength to continue visiting and enjoying Madrid stronger when the heat has passed.
As mentioned in other posts, in the summer in Madrid there are numerous cultural activities in Madrid (many free) and festivals interesting to know and feel.
Unlike a few years ago, the city is not empty. While it is true that many locals take their holidays in August, many prefer to stay in the city. Madrid in summer is an ideal city to live, with a little less people, but with the hustle and bustle that characterizes it. If you drive, you can easily park on the street, and you can find a place among the many terraces and bars without having to wait to get table.
Another advantage of coming to Madrid in August is that you will enjoy special rates in your accommodation. For example, in our apartments you can book through our website http://www.homesfortravellers.com, you get a discount of more than 20%. In addition, most apartments have air conditioning, and some private pool!

Teotihuacán, City of the Gods
Treasures from the most important archaeological site in Mexico.
Teotihucán was a great metropolis in pre-Colombian Mesoamerica. For centuries, the city was a political, economic and religious center of the first order.
Recent archaeological discoveries in the city of Teotihuacán, in the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, make this show organized by Obra Social 'la Caixa' even more interesting.
Visitors to this exhibition will be able to see over 400 pieces of art and artifacts that reflect the everyday life and religion of this enigmatic civilization. Monumental architectural elements, vessels and filigree figures, masks, statues of divinities and zoomorphic representations, as well as examples of murals with traces of their original polychrome.
Teotihuacán was, from 100 B.C. to 650 A.C., the first and most influential metropolis in America, with a population that reached 160,000. When the Aztecs discovered the city in ruins a thousand years later, in the 14th century, they gave it the name Teotihuacán, which means 'where the gods are born', and located their creation myth here.
This major archaeological site is 50 kilometers north of what is now Mexico City and is the most visited historic monument in the country. The incredible wealth of this site, which has yet to be completely discovered, is good evidence of what Teotihuacán was like.

What´s On Madrid: El Madrid de las Verbenas
