Apartments versus Hotels in Madrid

Only think in that: If your group is larger than 2 or 3 people, you can save big by renting an apartment and cooking some of your own meals. Even in Madrid, Spain, it's hard to find a restaurant meal for under 10 euros/US$15. So for 4 people you get close to $200/day in meals. The downsides are that by visiting fewer restaurants you miss out on some of the local food culture and the time required to cook and clean. JORNADA MUNDIAL DE LA JUVENTUD MADRID 2011: LA VISITA DEL PAPA

La Jornada Mundial de la Juventud (JMJ) es un evento religioso y cultural de grandes magnitudes, que reúne cada tres años a jóvenes de todo el mundo durante una semana para reflexionar sobre el mensaje de Cristo. Es, según la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud en Madrid del 16 al 21 de Agosto de 2011, el evento más internacional y multitudinario que organiza cada tres años la Iglesia Católica en el mundo. La pasada jornada se celebró en Australia, donde fue anunciada la próxima cita: será en Madrid del 16 al 21 de agosto de 2011.

El Papa, llegará a la ciudad el día 18 y permanecerá hasta el 21 de Agosto. Se han organizado decenas de actos preparativos, como misas, conciertos o encuentros religiosos y sociales. 


Por ejemplo, el día 17 tendrá lugar "El día del 7º Arte", que se celebrará en las salas de cine de la calle Fuencarral. Se proyectarán diversas películas, como Encontrarás dragones o De dioses y hombres y, además, habrá encuentros con los productores, directores y actores de estas producciones. 

Según las previsiones de la JMJ Madrid 2011, se calcula que acudirán al acto entre 1.500.000 y 2.500.000 jóvenes de todo el mundo.
